This is with reference to the news report ' Arpora-Nagoa residents reject holding EDM festival ' (TGE, Nov 18). Over the past 6 months or more there have been several newspaper reports of how organisers of the Sunburn EDM festival have completed a full circle of north and South Goa seeking permission to host their annual EDM extravaganza during the Christmas week, only to be rejected outright by residents of all villages . By now the organisers should realise that their presence in Goa is not welcome as their EDM festivals are known to disturb the peace and tranquility of the surroundings with hardly any benefits to the locals. Would it therefore not be prudent for the organisers to try their luck outside Goa and in places where people are known to enjoy such tamashas? It is time they do some serious introspection.
