Security agencies have been alarmed after 100 Kashmiri youths who travelled to Pakistan on valid visas for short durations have either not come back or have disappeared after their return in last three years.
And the figures are also astonishing. Radicalisation has been a constant process in J&K mainly due to indoctrination by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
This appears to be serious issue and the guardians must be taken in to confidence and try to locate these youths. The missing youth are mainly from an average middle class and have been described as the new faces of terrorism in Kashmir.
It is a well-known fact that any youth visiting Pakistan would be approached by ISI members. Either these youth are being brainwashed and thereafter being trained or are allured to carry out anti-India propaganda.
Kashmiris joining militancy remains a matter of concern. The sources along with immigration officials should keep a tab on movement of youths by taking a proactive outreach programme and to bring such youths back in the mainstream.
