Even a single life cannot be sacrificed. Despite two per cent positivity rate in Goa, one or two people succumb to Covid almost daily. The Task Force is clueless about this. What must be the requirements of the Task Force? It must be headed by an infectiologist - one specialising in infectious diseases- not an oncologist. Members of the Task Force must disseminate the latest knowledge acquired of this ever-evolving virus. The knowledge must be used for risk management. The sole objective of the Task Force must be to protect the lives of the locals. But so far, it is silent.
Now, some more questions. How have risks been mitigated in the casinos that are now allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity? What about ventilation? Masks used? Clients will infect the gaming personnel, who will spread the same to their neighbours. Daily self-testing should be made a must.
