The SS (no pun intended), Sanchar Saathi surveillance app has been disguised as a tool to empower mobile phone users. After massive outrage on social media, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia calmly says, "No issue, it’s optional. Don’t want Sanchar Saathi ? Just delete it.” Meanwhile, Department of Telecom's official directive to phone manufacturers, (still very much visible on X ) says “Sanchar Saathi app must be pre-installed on all new devices and its core functions cannot be disabled or restricted.” Zero shame, zero scurples, zero remorse . Lie through your teeth, then act surprised when people call you out. This isn’t governance, this is vile gaslighting and another step towards the North Koreafication of India. George Orwell was prescient when he authored 1984, now the only thing missing is the 'Thought Police' but they too will come sooner than expected....of course unannounced.
