The tough stand of SP South Goa on tinted glasses and modified silencers seems to be no-nonsense. His statement on the law being the same for everyone is also welcome. But why suddenly now? Which prominent personality’s peace has been disturbed? Goans have been complaining for years to no avail. They just didn’t have the clout. Or perhaps the cupboard was bare. So now, I can phone and complain about my neighbour's car's tinted glasses. The law must be same for all, including the police. So, if I phone and complain about rave parties, loud music, tourists drinking or driving vehicles on the beach, drug peddling, prostitution, etc, the police must act. The graver the crime, the more they must act with alacrity. Indeed, the law must be dealt with the same yardstick for everyone and we hope the SP South will live up to his promise.
