Uneven surface on Curchorem-Quepem road

This is to bring to your kind notice that the road from Dr Ambedkar Circle, Curchorem to Bandsai, and the stretch of road from Kakumoddi to Taki on the Curchorem-Quepem-Margao road, which was dug up for laying underground cables, was hurriedly tarred without following the proper process. Since the arrival of the monsoon, the dug-up portion has caved inwards.

However, since the road is tarred, it is difficult to spot the caved-in portions. This poses a great risk to vehicles, especially two-wheeler riders, who suddenly encounter an uneven road and may skid when applying brakes or meet with an unfortunate incident. Another issue faced by two-wheeler riders is the accumulation of water, as there is no proper drainage, causing rainwater to accumulate on the road and roadsides.

Daily commuters are aware of the situation and resort to driving in the opposite lane to avoid the uneven road, thereby creating a risk to oncoming traffic. I request the Curchorem and Quepem traffic cell, along with the representatives of PWD roads, to inspect the said road to make it safe for all users. Road users will be grateful to the concerned authorities for taking prompt action.
