Rumbler strips or speed breakers are used to bring down speed of vehicles. These are intended to help curb accidents as they are supposed to slow down vehicles that are speeding beyond permissible speed limits.
However, many times these speed breakers are not within the stipulated or proper size and instead of preventing accidents end up in causing more harm. There are a number of incidents where bikers have fallen after losing control.
It is in the fitness of things that authorities must conform to standard size of speed breakers. Also, speed breakers must be painted in reflective paint to be visible at nights and have to be installed at requisite places especially near hospitals, clinics and schools.
