A few days back, linesmen deputed at the jurisdiction of Adpai in Ponda undertook maintenance work over streetlight poles along the Adpai jetty. Accordingly, two LED fixtures that existed in a faulty position for quite long were re-installed in their correct position. However, some other defects that needed equal importance remained unattended. For instance, as on April 3 at 8:00 am, a hanging LED fixture was noticed over one electricity pole. So also, a LED fixture existing in a vertical position remained unattended. Similarly, one LED fixture that existed in a non-functional condition remained un-repaired. Such a undesirable state of affairs only implies that the maintenance work carried out by the concerned linesmen was quite unsatisfactory. It is time for the linesmen deputed at this strategic location to attend the balance defects along the Adpai jetty on priority basis without any further delay. No doubt, inconvenience faced by pedestrians and travellers during night time must end on a permanent basis.
