Corona has been in the country for the last two years. Vaccination against it started from January 16, 2021 and reached 100 crore on October 21, 2021. From here, it took only two and a half months to reach a level of 150 crores.
This achievement is commendable in a continental country like India, where 91% of people are vaccinated with the first dose and 66% are vaccinated with 2nd dose.
Vaccination is an effective way to keep the virus in check. Very few people who took both doses had the virus. Therefore, it would be prudent for citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
The Centre has provided free vaccination at all government hospitals. Several measures are being planned for vaccination. In rural gram panchayats and in urban municipal corporations, it is necessary to launch a vigorous awareness campaign for vaccination of citizens.
Vaccination has also been started for the age group of 15 to 18 from January 3, 2022.
