Since the CM sawant has decided to go ahead with the Film City in Goa the land hunt was on. The Loliem-Polem comunidade has huge tracts of land and out of 54 member committee 50 has supported and given permission to set up a Film City on the Bhagwati plateau with the 250 acres/10 lakh sq metres of uncultivated land. The comunidade has also decided to give 750 acres/ 30 lakh sq metres land to set up a hybrid solar project in the village. I really salute the 4 committee members who thought of their future generation and to save and protect their village for the future generation. The villagers are not happy with the comunidade decision and they are objecting to it. In Goa, the comunidade has massive tracts of land in villages and the builders and other land mafias are eyeing them. In my village Chandor, our people sold out comunidade land to outsiders and they made lot of money by giving house numbers and permissions to built houses. When the villagers want comunidade land for development of the village for setting up garbage plant or village club, the committee always remains silent, gives many excuses and harass niz Goemkars. Requesting our Chief Minister and the government of Goa not to bring such projects in Goa when the government doesn't have any land with them.
