Lok Sabha elections results delivered by people of Goa was expected. The people of South Goa have rejected BJP candidate Pallavi Dempo and gave victory to Capt Viriato Fernandes. The North Goa seat is however intact with BJP candidate Shripad Naik winning for 6th time. The NDA alliance couldn't reach 400 mark as was projected but ended winning close to 300 seats and INDIA alliance crossing 200 seats. The Goa result saw around 6,000 plus votes in favour of NOTA (none of the above) and thus defeating South Goa BJP candidate by 13,500 plus votes. The candidate for South Goa being a fresh candidate with business background and a social worker could not win people's hearts in south. South Goa needed a well known person with political experience and background with social service. However South Goa was always against ruling government decisions regarding coal transportation, double tracking of railway and other issues that effected locals at large. Viriato Fernandes being an activist thus had an edge over the BJP candidate by supporting people and their issues.
