The summer heat is building up and Goans are in all likelihood headed towards a sweltering season in the months of April and May. The PWD Minister has recently announced that there would be an assured four hours of water supply to people across Goa.
A reality check shows that there are several places in Goa that are out of water for many days and have to rely on alternative sources like tankers. This is a pathetic scenario given the background that Goa has celebrated its 'Har Ghar Jal' achievement with great pomp that even the Prime Minister has acknowledged the feat.
It appears that the Central leadership is not in the know of the ground situation in Goa, it does not know that Goans are still struggling for the basic necessities of life like water and electricity, leave aside the robust internet connectivity that is promised to take us to the future. Our budget has promised us the sky, but we still don't have the water and electricity that we need to chug through our day-to-day living.
