In a nation that claims to champion merit, it's tragic to see crowds in Jammu celebrating with crackers and dances over the shutdown of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence simply because 42 out of 50 MBBS seats went to Muslim students from Kashmir who earned them fairly through NEET. Classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face: a new medical college lost, future doctors disrupted, and Jammu's own opportunities diminished”all to fuel communal outrage over admissions that followed every rule. When bigotry influences institutions, merit suffers, education divides, and everyone loses. Students will be relocated, but the damage to inclusivity and progress lingers. I really don't know how people and go and vote for those who have been spreading poison in the society to break the social fabric of this country.
