Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the Goa government will launch 'Goa Ki Baat' which is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' radio programme wherein he addresses the nation every month. According to Sawant, each cabinet minister will address the public about his ministries and the episode will be aired every third Saturday of the month. While this might be a positive initiative and will help people understand the day-to-day functioning of the administration, locals would rather have their ministers work on issues than listen to scripted monologues. Currently, the Mhadei dispute, water woes along the northern coastal belt, double-tracking in Velsao and crime are burning issues which are being dealt with poorly. Also, the cost of living has gone up with families still trying to recover from the losses dealt during the pandemic. Who's listening to their cries? Goans have heard enough announcements, potshots from behind press conference tables, and replies from behind the camera and now the government has decided to use another medium to feed us with mundane information because 'your voice matters' only during the election season.
