After chaos and confusion on carnival day at Vasco, the city witnessed another stormy incident at shigmotsav meeting. The meeting was called at Ravindra Bhavan on February 22 and was chaired by Leo Rodrigues. The committee was supposed to be formed on the day of meeting but without knowlege of proceedings, rules and regulations some one proposed the name of MLA Krishna Daji Salkar and he was appointed as a president of Shigmotsav 23. As per the rules and regulations the elected president should have worked in the committee as executive member for 5 yrs but the name was declared without any basis. The previous committee also welcomed Salkar as president but the procedure to choose him was wrong. So many members who were part of shigmotsav had a feeling that this has never happened in history of Vasco shigmo. The meeting concluded without the appointment of secretary and treasurer and other working members of committee. Hope the shigmo is celebrated in true spirit and with unity amongst the members irrespective of the committee head.
