The Coding and Robotics Education in Schools Scheme- Project Management Unit (PMU)- DTE headed by Dr Vijay Borges- Project Director conducted a Teacher Capacity Building and Training Programme on Thursday at Kar Bhavan, Altinho for selected computer teachers from all 12 talukas. The session was conducted by the Training Team of PMU: Tr Nazima Baig, Tr Elizabeth D’Souza, Tr Sonal Vaze, Tr Smita Naik, Tr Devendra Rathod and Tr Salvius Travasso, focused on the power of open source; Linux and command line terminal. In the second session, the teachers learnt image manipulation using open-source tools. This capacity-building programme was in line with NEP 2020, where learning by doing, computational thinking and peer learning is a major focus. The programme involved a hybrid mode for learning using unplugged and plugged activities which the teacher could implement in classrooms to make learning fun. The programme was coordinated by Project Officer Megha Nayak.
