The Pramod Sawant led BJP government had organized a huge 'Mega Job Fair' at the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Taleigao on November 8 and 9 to excite a few Goans after creating a lot of undue hype by installing thousands of posters every few metres to publicize the same event and wooing all the gullible unemployed youth from different parts of the state with the tall promise of offering them with some 4,000 instant guaranteed jobs from 120 private sector companies through direct selections/recruitments at the venue.
Unfortunately, no one really knows how many of these youngsters were finally selected by those listed 120 private sector companies as the government too has still not bothered to publish a white paper till date even after holding a event of such a huge magnitude in Goa.
Well, as per my knowledge, the non-Goan owners of most private sector companies in the state are historically known for recruiting outsiders from neighbouring states in large numbers in their establishments in different parts of Goa. These owners prefer hiring people from neighbouring states for peanut salaries and exploiting them for years to make huge profits in Goa. I therefore personally feel that the government of the day should take a serious note of this, try to take a strict action against the owners of private sector companies for indulging in such common anti-Goan malpractices and then dream of permanently solving the unemployment problem in the state instead of seeking some self-publicity for itself by organizing such fairs in Goa.
