Why is CM misusing Shivaji's legacy?

CM Pramod Sawant of late is seen aggressively trying to promote and misuse Chhatrapati Shivaji's legacy in the State to further his own communal agenda in Goa. In fact, he is currently seen organising not just official functions in Shivaji's memory so very often but is also seen inwardly pushing all his die-hard supporters to install Shivaji's statues almost everywhere. Well, as far as everyone knows, Shivaji was a medieval Maratha king, an able administrator from Maharashtra and who never discriminated against people based on their caste, creed and religion. In fact, our history books teach us that Shivaji was a supporter of all communities and who never bothered to play dirty Hindu-Muslim politics throughout his life as he treated everyone as equal. Well, I personally feel that by selectively organizing numerous official functions and aggressively glorifying only Shivaji in the state by ignoring many of our different past ancient rulers, Sawant wants to somehow also prove that no matter what Goa was it is still a part of Maharashtra. Yes, 'their' merger dream is still on and I dare to say this with full confidence.
