I personally feel that the root cause of most road accidents is due to the free availability of liquor every few metres 24 X 7 throughout the state of Goa. The other reason is because some people simply do not know to concentrate on the road & know how to drive in Goa. The worse part is that the officials from the RTO department are themselves seen accepting bribes on the quiet today and issuing permanent licenses for even unfit people who simply do not know the basics of simple driving in Goa. Our respective governments over the years have also not bothered to improve the public transport services in the State. I therefore feel that until & unless the government of the day does not improve the public transport services in the state, does not put strict restrictions on the sale of liquor, keeps encouraging people using their own two/four wheeler vehicles and does not stop the RTO officials from blindly issuing licenses, we Goans should never expect nor dream of road accidents lessening in Goa in future.
