Will the Chorao bridge remain a distant dream?

Nearly 30 years back the Chorao bridge was in the news but still has not seen the light of day. Before 2012 election, the Congress had laid the foundation stone for the bridge at Orando-Madel-Chorao without precise planning and since then it lies there in wild weeds.

It may be recalled that during the 2012 Assembly election the former CM (late) Manohar Parrikar at an election meeting had repeatedly promised the islanders that the Chorao Bridge would be accorded top priority if their candidate and Party comes to power.

But since then, there is no news of the Chorao bridge.

One wonders what is the ground reality. Are the islanders not rightful voters of the legislative assembly and had not voted at every election? How long should they remain untouched to the mainland and depend on the ferries?

At every State event, the BJP remembers the legacy of Parrikar. We hope that BJP honours the word given by their own CM and fulfils the promises of Parrikar given to islanders by building Chorao bridge.

Congratulations to all those who are elected as panch members in their respective villages throughout the State of Goa. Now that the results are out, everyone should understand (especially the losers) that only one could win the election. The winner in the respective ward should also understand that he/she is the person who will have to take all the people into confidence and usher in development in their ward.Elections come and go, but please do not keep the hate…
