It is quite clear of late that even after widespread vaccination, the BA.1 and BA.2 Omicron variants have begun infecting people who have even been administered even the booster doses, especially in advanced countries, where relaxations in SOPs are now the norm. Even the UK has seen about 4.9 million cases of infection per week, in all probability due to the dropping of guard in that country. Also, China which had adopted zero tolerance has begun to report about 13,000 cases a day in a few areas such as Shanghai. This is reason enough to believe that the worst is still not over yet and extreme precautions should be taken to avert another massive wave of Covid-19.
