While the recent ceasefire between Iran, the US, and Israel has paused immediate cross-border attacks, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states remain caught between Iran’s desperation and actions by the US administration. The security situation is fragile, and it is uncertain if this temporary calm can address the deeper regional rivalries. The GCC urges an immediate end to Iranian attacks and insists on being included in any peace talks. True and lasting stability, they emphasize, requires a comprehensive, long-term political solution. The current agreement hinges on Iran ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz and halting attacks on US and regional assets. We hope all parties”US, Iran, and Israel”can engage in sincere dialogue and reach agreements. The world yearns for peace, especially as conflict drives up oil and gas prices and damages global economies. Both Iran and the US claim victory after two weeks of ceasefire, but in war, there are no true winners. GCC countries should stay united and not divided for smooth operations of oil and gas in the region.
