It must be said that the jobs-for-cash scam has affected almost all sections of society like probably no other scandal has. However the worst affected obviously are the educated youth who are left jobless. Every single job that has been offered in exchange for cash means that a deserving candidate has been denied a government job. Hence it is high time the unemployed Goan youth raise their voices against the injustice being meted out to them. It is learnt that the Youth Congress has demanded a judicial probe in the cash-for-jobs scam. There is obviously a cover-up in progress and the big fish will probably never be caught in the dragnet unless an independent probe headed by a retired High Court judge is initiated. It is learnt that all the cash that has exchanged hands without jobs being given will be returned to the victims. If so all the jobs that have been given for cash should also be probed. The probe will also put an end to all such illegalities in future and Goan youth will be assured that government jobs will be given only on merit.
