The insidious anti-conversion Bill has just been cleared by the Goa government, sans discussions, sans application of mind, sans logic, nothing at all. There is absolutely no justification or requirement for such a bill when we have had no cases of religious conversion in the state. Introducing this legislation in the assembly is prima facie an unlawful act. It is part of the larger divisive narrative of the BJP led by Pramod Sawant and his masters in Delhi to foment communal tension and to put people behind bars at the slightest pretext. Goa is known for it's harmony and such divisive legislation which is being introduced on the eve of the elections, is a clear indication that the BJP is running scared, that it is losing the plot and the elections and so is now indulging in such experiments of hate. Goa cannot be turned into a communal cauldron as the rest of the country has had the misfortune of witnessing. We need to free Goa of this party who will not hesitate to burn down the state to rule over it's ashes, this criminal bill has to be fought tooth and nail.
