How do we make humankind pause, introspect and realise that a drastic mindset change is needed to create a bright, happy and peaceful world? We have evolved from primitive beings into sophisticated, high-tech beings with almost God-like powers, yet use them for destruction rather than humanity. The world is in turmoil, crying out for systemic change and a new peaceful world order, which is impossible with the present mindset. Corruption and self-interest are endemic, from the grassroots to the highest levels. A hastily implemented SIR affecting all States and citizens has sparked agitation and calls for the CEC’s resignation. Let us not beat around the bush. The ruling BJP/RSS have created an “us” (Sarkari Naxals, according to the Opposition?) versus “them” divide, branding the Opposition as Urban Naxals, Demagi Naxals, Anti-Nationals and anarchists. The ruling party seeks to transform Constitutional India, which is Bharat, into Bharat, which is India, with hardcore Hindutva at the forefront. Despite its parliamentary majority and its own Speaker, the ruling party allows arguments (one-way) rather than discussions (give and take), prompting Opposition walkouts amid open hatred, with both sides treating each other as enemies. This cannot continue! Youth worldwide are demanding systemic change. India is doing comparatively well internationally. Will it smell the coffee and lead a peaceful, democratic, exemplary systemic transformation for the benefit of humankind? How often can those who have not killed their conscience pretend not to see?
