Pipe bursts  and leakages, are not new to Goa as we see this happening several times in a a year when millions of litres of this precious commodity are lost due to poor maintenance of the distribution networks and pressure points. Of what use then are contingency plans and waiting to know the status of drinking water only in March-April according to WRD officials. It is  akin to  waiting for the horses to bolt and then closing the stable doors. We need to act now and save every drop of drinking water.
