So Hollywood finally decided to make a movie about Mexicans, for Mexicans and not have too much of that gangster stuff. Alright, we may have been a little premature about the gangster stuff, but it’s forgivable right? You better say “yes.” Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria stars in Lowriders, although, judging from her role in the trailer, the movie may not have as much of her as you think it might. Here’s what we figured from Lowriders. It’s a ‘low budget film’, in the sense that it’s not going to be a blockbuster, and it’s aimed at the Hispanic community, who will get a lot of the cultural references in the film. One of the trademarks of the Hispanic community, especially in America, is their passion for lowriders, muscle cars that are customized with hydraulic suspension that can make them ride so low they’re almost touching the ground. But, they can also spring high and ‘jump’, on command. From what we gather from the trailer, this story centres around a family that’s broken. The father customizes cars, one son wants to break away and become an artist, while the other one is already on the run from the authorities. How this all pans out? We’ll have to watch the movie, which will certainly not release in India. Watch the trailer by copying the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0exKi_wodU or scan the QR code
