International celebrity Glenn Perry will be performing in Goa on August 10, at 8 pm, at Entertainment Society of Goa, Panaji. Singer and lyricist Glenn Perry who is famed for his MTV mega hit song Laila is organizing the concert as a dedication to his legendary father Chris Perry and to his mother Lily Perry.
This year Glenn has won three American awards for his song Aloha which was filmed in Hawaii. From thousands of contesting artists from all around the world Glenn won the Los Angeles based American Akademia Music Awards for best pop artist of the year 2019. He recently also won the American Global Music Awards for his song Aloha.
Recently Glenn released a new video titled Paradize which he considers to be his best offering.
“I am a transcending musician. I love music in all its shapes, forms and styles,” says Glenn. “I get bored very easily. I need to transmogrify to keep myself alive. It’s a process of rejuvenation,” he added.
Fans attending this concert will get an opportunity to see a different side of Glenn. At this concert he will perform a fusion of the Blues and Indian classical music. “I love amalgamating different styles of music. When you fuse different elements together it creates a new dimension which is overwhelmingly impressive,” the singer informed.
Glenn aims to promote talent from Goa. “There are many good musician’s and singers in Goa but they lack opportunities I keep hearing. I want to help and give a platform to upcoming singers and musicians from Goa just like my father did,” says Glenn. He further added, “My father helped and promoted hundreds of singers. Thousands of musicians have benefited from his music and his magnificent compositions. I myself was one of them. My father was a genius. He was the only teacher I had. He is my mentor, my guru, my everything. I owe everything I am to my father. Without my father I would be nothing. The one amazing thing I remember about my father is whenever a car or any vehicle would blow the horn he would instantly tell you the exact note of the car horn just from his mind without even touching an instrument. He was heavenly. I am featuring a children’s choir who will be the highlight of the concert. Since I arrived Goa I’ve spent the last few days training the children who are aged 2 to 14 years.”
Glenn together with his guitar and Indian instruments the tabla, harmonium, pakhawaj, flute and taal will give the audience a taste of improvised East - West fusion.
