All of us inhabit the same environment and are an integral part of it. Yet, in recent times, human beings have forgotten about this intimate relationship which they share with nature. Troubled by the harsh way in which we react to the environment today, Dutch artist Karin van der Molen is trying to rekindle this love for nature through her art creations which focus primarily on environmental/site-specific art, objects and installations. In doing so, she also tries to incorporate the experience of the locations where the artwork is going to be made using mainly natural materials like hay, willow rods etc. Down in Goa where she is creating a sculpture 'A Bubble of Thoughts' at Musuem of Goa, Pilerne, the artist will be delivering a talk about her work on January 16 at 5.30 pmat the museum. She will be accompanied by her husband Pat van Boeckel, a documentary maker and media artist who had worked on several documentaries including A Sense of Urgency and Time Passes a portrait of American author Peter Matthiessen. Boeckel will be displaying video clips and footage to go with the talk.
