Shailene Woodley's climactic Divergent Series: Ascendant might be skipping cinemas entirely - in order to launch a TV spinoff series. Ascendant is currently slotted to open in US and UK cinemas next June - but Lionsgate is now apparently considering cancelling those plans following the poor box office performance of Allegiant. The first two instalments of the Divergent series nearly made $300m each at the worldwide box office, spawning a franchise and turning Woodley into a Hollywood superstar. However, The Divergent Series: Allegiant only managed a meagre $179.2 million and was met with harsh reviews.
