Athlete Deepa Malik scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics when she claimed a silver medal in the shotput F-53 event at Rio. Deepa's best throw of 4.61m from her six attempts got her the silver medal. Ever since her win, congratulatory wishes have not stopped pouring in for the athlete who is paralyzed from waist down and is mother of two and wife of an Army officer with Bollywood celebrities too joining in to tweet out their wishes. India has now secured three medals from the Rio Paralympics after Mariyappan Thangavelu and Varun Singh Bhati won gold and bronze respectively in men's high jump.
