A special screening of the film ‘Chuskit’ for the students of People’s School for Appropriate Learning and People’s High School, at Maquinez Palace, Panaji, on January 25. The screening was organised by Viva Goa in collaboration with Entertainment Society of Goa. The event was partnered by the four Marriott Group hotels in Goa. 

Present on the occasion were chief guest, vice-chairman of ESG Rajendra Talak; producer of the film Chuskit, Namrata Goyal, general managers of the Marriott hotels in Goa, namely Gaurav Apte of Goa Marriott Resort; Cajetan Araujo of W Goa; Victor Chen of Le Meridien and Manveer Kapoor of Fairfield by Marriott; principal of People’s High School, Purnima Naique, and the editor of a lifestyle magazine Kedar Dhume.

The dignitaries also unveiled a poster of the film Chuskit as a symbolic Goa release. The 90-minute film Chuskit is an inspiring story about a paraplegic girl who dreams of going to school and in the process brings about a change not just in in her family but also in her village.

Speaking on the occasion national award-winning director Rajendra Talak stressed on the importance of patriotism besides advising the students to study with determination.

 “Chuskit talks about Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan which is the right to basic compulsory education for all under the age of 14. If we want India to progress as a nation then the only way forward is to educate the rural India, especially the girl child,” said producer of the film Namrata Goyal.

“Hardwork and dedication are the two things that can overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Never give up, fight harder to achieve your goals,” said GM of Goa Marriott Resort Gauvav Apte.
