Honouring innovative leaders

Anup and Alpa Shah, Managing Director and Director Resort Rio Group of Hotels, Goa received yet another feather in their cap in Mumbai when the jury and the public voted them in the category of Indian Affairs Innovative Business Leader in Hotels 2019 at the 10th Annual India Leadership Conclave and Indian Affairs Business Leadership Awards 2019. The award recognised Anup and Alpa Shah’s innovative approach to creating what is now the iconic Resort Rio group of Hotels in Goa, their commitment to the social sector, community development, philanthropic work and entrepreneurial excellence.

Anup and Alpa Shah won amongst  thousands of other prominent and established hoteliers in India, narrowed down to the top six who were then screened from many top sources and extensive research carried out by the research wing of Network 7.

The annual ILC Power Brand Awards is India’s most definitive destination of leadership gathering of more than 350 influential leaders of the country. This is the only event dedicated to celebrating the very best in innovation and creative excellence, spanning multiple sectors from business, cinema, fashion, fragrance and fine jewellers to hotels, automobiles and others in indie. The winners of these prestigious awards are selected by a panel of industry experts and persons of eminence in Network 7 Media Group.

Anup Shah still practices law from Mayfair London and has several other businesses. He is a director of several UK based companies and divides his time between London and Goa.  However, his real passion is the Rio Group of Hotels. Very soon, the Rio Group will have over 325 rooms and one of the largest convention centres/banquet hall in Goa as it pursues its aim to be the largest and the best in Goa.
