I have a crush on this girl in my office. The problem is, she has a boyfriend and I have a girlfriend. We have been working together for six years now and even though we are on separate teams, we end up working together a lot on many projects across Goa. Our work is related and I am happy we make a good team. How do I convince her that we will make a good romantic team too? I am willing to leave my girlfriend to be with her. Antsy Uncle
Paint my love
Dear lover boy,
Michael Learns to Rock fan eh? I hated MLTR, thought they were the most uninventive music group that wrote juvenile lyrics. But enough about me, let’s talk about you. My grandmother once told my brother not to poop where he ate. He was one and didn’t understand a word she said, but that line stuck with me. Don’t mess around where you work. There’s a line between what’s business and what’s personal, don’t cross it. If you do like this girl so much and you are absolutely 100 percent sure she likes you, then one of you is going to have to find another job and then work out a relationship. But, first you have to rip the band aid out and tell her that you like her. Then, if she doesn’t sic her boyfriend on you, slap you, knee you or just stomp all over your heart with her words, and you see you have an in, perhaps only then can you see where this goes. My grandmother was a genius, may her soul rest in peace. Well, she also told me I’d be very rich when I was older, drive a sports car and have a supermodel type wife. I ride a scooter with a Ferrari sticker and my wife is growing a mustache, I think, so it doesn’t always work out for you. But, go for it.

I want a quick cure for headaches, since I get them every often. Medicines don’t work quickly and I often have to suffer a migraine or a cluster headache for hours and sometimes days. Do you have a quick solution to deal with the pain? It’s not as bad as giving birth but the sustained pain is difficult to deal with.
Rochelle
Dear Rochelle,
Okay. Here’s what you do. You’ll need to first wash your face and ensure that you are awake. Have a nice strong cup of coffee to keep you alert. It might make your migraine worse for a bit, but that’s a small sacrifice you’ll have to make. Then, as hard as you can, aided by the adrenaline rush from being heady with the strong coffee, you need to punch a wall. Hard. Bingo, pain in head forgotten, pain in hand takes precedence. THAT’s how you deal with a really bad headache that doesn’t go away. Oh, keep a friend around to drive you to hospital in case you punch the wall really hard and break some bones. Wondering why this is only funny to me and now you may have broken bones in your hand? Well, do I look like a blooming doctor? How am I supposed to know how to deal with a migraine? You took this advice thing a bit too far methinks. How’s the hand?
I read this story some time back on facebook that a teenager in Austria sued her parents over baby pictures of her on facebook. That was very interesting. I don’t want to sue my parents but is there any way I can get them to stop putting these restrictions on me? I want to go out and have fun but they want me to come home every by 9. This is so unfair.

Dear curfew critic,
Interesting choice of pseudonym. So here’s the thing. There are privacy laws in Austria that enabled this kid to sue her parents. In America you can call the cops on your folks if they break certain laws. In India, you mess with your parents and you will bleed. Okay, not literally, but you know what I mean. You don’t mess with Indian parents, I mean most of us lived with our parents even in our late twenties. Some of us still live with their parents. Not me, but I know some who do. It’s a good thing here you know. The more you want to be like America, the quicker society plunges into decay. There are some things that work. Don’t break them. In any case, your mother won’t give you her lawyer’s number.
