Balika Vadhu, one of the landmark shows on Indian TV in recent times is going off air. The last episode will be aired on July 31 logically concluding the story of Nandini (Mahhi Vij) and Krish (Ruslaan Mumtaz). The show began in 2008 showing the child marriage of Anandi (Avika Gor) and Jagya (Avinash Mukherjee). The show was an instant hit due to its socially conscious story and the brilliant acting by the leads. However the ratings have gone down in recent months with the makers even bringing back veteran actor Surekha Sikri (Daadisa) on the show but to no avail.
