After the meeting, the Maratha Mandal Vasco organised a felicitation programme for the meritorious students of SSC and HSSC students from Mormugao taluka. South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar was the chief guest for the felicitation function.
Speaking on the occasion, Sawaikar stressed the need of the parents to cope up with students in view of advanced levels of education system.
"I would like to advise the students to be competitive, but at the same time be helpful to co-students who may need to cope up with advanced levels of education system and this will benefit the society and whole education system," he added.
The meritorious students from Mormugao taluka were felicitated, while senior citizens of the community were honoured by Sawaikar.
Sawaikar also felicitated Sancoale Deputy Sarpanch Nandini Dessai and Chicolna-Bogmalo Panch Sankalp Mahale on the occasion.
Committee president Maruti Dessai, secretary Lakshimikant Chodankar, treasurer Manohar Belgavkar, key speaker and retired principal Prabhakar Chavan, ex-president of the committee Bhausaheb Pawar and Laxman Sawant were present on the occasion.
Suresh Hongekar compered the programme. Lakshimikant Chodankar proposed the vote of thanks.
