Musical treat

Kala Academy Goa in collaboration with Tarangini Saunskrutik Pratisthan, Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda and with the support of Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, and Department of Tourism is organizing Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki Sangeet Mahotsav on September 14 and 15 from 10 am to10 pm at Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir, Ponda. The sessions in this festival are open to music lovers.

The festival will be inaugurated on September 14  at 10 am at the hands of  Govind Gaude, Art & minister for art and culture, and chairman of Kala Academy Goa and Rajiv Gandhi Kala Mandir.  Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, senior disciple of  Late Pt. Abhisheki will be felicitatedas a part of the event.

Renowned classical vocal artists namely Pt. Ajay Pohankar, Pt. Raja Kale, Pt. Venkateshkumar, Pt. Sudhakar Deole,  Dr. Alka Deo Marulkar & Nandini Bedekar will feature in this edition of the festival. Young artists like Ninad Deo, Ruchira Kedar, Gautam Kale, Manas Vishwarup, Ram Shankar, Vivek Sonar (Flute), Tejas Upadhye (Violin), Harshala Totade (Kathak Dance) will also participate in this year’s mahotsav. Goan artists namely Komal Sane Gurav and Shri. Sandesh Khedekar  have been given opportunity  to present classical vocal recital in the festival.

Pt. Subhash Kamat, Pt. Sudhir Nayak, Dayanidhesh Kossambe, Raya Korgaonkar, Amar Mopkar, Chinmay Kolhatkar, Mayank Bedekar, Dattaraj Mhalshi, Tulshidas Navelkar, Subhash Faterpekar, Rohidas Parab, Dattaraj Surlekar, Dattaraj Shettye, Vithal Khandolkar, Vishant Surlakar, Kishor Teli, Rahul Khandolkar will provide instrumental accompaniment to the artists. The programme will be compered by Dr. Ajay Vaidya.

All the music lovers and connoisseurs are requested to take note of the  above and attend the music festival in large numbers.
