Paryatan Parva: Welcoming tourists with open arms

The second edition of ‘Paryatan Parv’ commenced in Goa and will be observed until the World Tourism Day on September 27. 

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, Department of Tourism and state government in collaboration with IHM-Goa and  Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) have organised  the event to highlight the benefits of tourism showcasing the cultural diversity of the state and reinforcing the concept of ‘Tourism for All’.

Terming the ‘Paryatan Parv’ as an interesting event, Menino D’souza, director of Tourism of the state government maintained, “It will focus on various aspects of tourism in the state and thus attract locals and tourists equally.” The event envisages large scale participation from the general public as well as industry stakeholders. The event will begin with a heritage walk organised at the heritage precincts at Mala, Panaji.

A series of programmes and activities will  be organised during  the eleven-day long ‘Paryatan Parv’ which will include a rally on tourism, nukkad natak, run for Incredible India, hygiene awareness among tourist, street  food vendors  and other unorganised sector stakeholders  and sensitisation in neighbourhood about Atithi Devo Bhava. Paryatan Parv will conclude on September 27, World Tourism Day) where several programmes have been scheduled by Goa Tourism to mark the occasion.
