The 44th State Art Exhibition (Student Category) of Kala Academy Goa was inaugurated on Monday at the hand of Gurudas Pilarnekar, member secretary of Kala Academy.Pravin Barad, director (administration), Mahesh Vengurlekar, principal, Goa College of Art, prize winner students, Fine Art College students and Kala Academy officials were present for the inaugural ceremony held at Kala Academy.
The exhibition of the prize winning as well as selected works will be on view at the art gallery till March 1 between 10am to 7pm.
Prizes to the winners were awarded at the hands of Pilarnekar and Barad. Altogether 107 works in panting and Graphic prints, 65 in Applied Art & Graphic Design and 22 works in sculpture section were received for the exhibition of competitive nature out of which a total of 98 exhibits in all three sections have been displayed in the exhibition. The works were judged by panel of experts namely Prof Prabhakar Patil (Mumbai), Vinay Saynekar and Zilu Harmalkar (Goa).
