While the mercury is on the rise, what better way to spend this summer than to sit on a couch with a cool drink in hand and Netfix on all day. This year has brought in a lot of excitement with the new up coming TV shows and also heart breaking moments as our favourite shows come to an end. But not all is lost. Popular TV shows Lucifer, Stranger Things, Riverdale and The Flash are back with another breath taking season which will be out this year. Beat the heat this summer with some amazing shows you can binge watch to get rid off your boredom.
Lucifer (2016) is an urban fantasy comedy- drama horror TV series based on the DC comic book character Lucifer Samael Morningstar from the comic book series The Sandman. Actor Tom Ellis who plays the role of Lucifer is tired of his beasty devilish life in the underworld and rises to stay in the city of angles - Los Angeles. In the initial years, the series received mixed reviews. On May 11, 2018, Fox cancelled Lucifer after three seasons. A month later, Netflix picked up the series for a fourth season of ten episodes, which was released on May 8, 2019. This brand-new season also introduces Israeli Actress Inbar Lavi who plays Lucifer’s lover. Is she human? Is she a devil? Or is she an angel?
Stranger Things (2016) is a Netflix original science fiction series created by The Duffer Brothers in 2016. The series is s et in a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980’s. The first two seasons focuses on the investigation of the disappearance of a young boy amid supernatural events occurring around the town, including the appearance of a girl with psychokinetic played by American actress and model Millie Bobby Brown abilities who helps the missing boy’s friends in their own search. Season 3 of this series is set to release on July 4 this year. In this new season the town has a new leader, the morally corrupt Mayor Kline, whose administration supported and presided over the construction of the new Starcourt Mall. With the Fourth of July approaching, beware of the strange things that happen.
Riverdale (2017) is a Teen drama TV series based on the characters from the Archie comics, staring KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, and Cole Sprouse, the series’ narrator. Unlike the original Archie comics this series isn’t one bit Romantic and Cheesy like everyone would have expected. In the first three seasons, Riverdale faced some serious dark times which includes the murder of Jason Blossom played by Trevor Stines, a serial killer on the loose, the Gargoyle King and a mysterious cult. Season 4 of this series is set to release in October 2019 but the main question is, will the dark cloud hovering over Riverdale finally bid farewell or is there a storm yet to come?
The Flash (2014) is an American superhero television series based on the DC comics character Barry Allen / Flash, is a superhero crime-fighter with superhuman speeds. It is a spin-off from Arrow, and supergirl existing in the same fictional universe. Staring, Grant Gustin as The Flash, is a crime scene investigator who gains super-human speed, which he uses to fight criminals, including others who have also gained superhuman abilities. The Flash was first released in North America on October 7, 2014, where it became the second-most watched premiere in the history of The CW. Season 6 of this series is expected to be released either on October 1 or October 8 later this year.
