Talking of conflicts and alternatives

#TG Life

Museum of Goa, Pilerne will be hosting the founder of Conflictorium, Avni Sethi on the August 4 as a part of its weekly programming series titled MOG Sundays. The talk, which is open to all and free of charges will be hosted on the Sunday from 11.30am-12.30pm.

The talk will explore the process of setting up Conflictorium, a museum of conflict in Ahmedabad. Conflictorium opened in 2013 and has since been home to diverse critical explorations on conflict transformation and art practice. The talk will throw light on the museum’s imagination of the alternative, the practice of evidence building and its relationship with failure.

Avni Sethi is an interdisciplinary practitioner with her primary concern lying between culture, memory, space and the body. She conceptualized and designed the Conflictorium. She currently serves as its artistic director.

Trained in multiple dance idioms, her performances are largely inspired by syncretic faith traditions and sites of contested narratives. She has been continually interested in exploring the relationship between intimate audiences and the performing body.
