John Oliver hates birds, or so he says. The comedian, who is the host of the popular internet show Last Week Tonight, is on holiday for now until the next season of LWN starts. However, he couldn’t help but come back for a brief 3 minute and change edition of LWN that focuses on migratory birds, or just birds in general.
Oliver has a message for the birds that migrate to warmer climes in order to “feed, grow and attract a mate.” According to him, that’s just like Eat, Pray, Love, but the birds don’t realise that what they’re looking for is actually inside them all the time. His brief message is filled with a lot of angst, as he called geese ducks that played football in high school and never stopped going to the gym. He wonders why he is supposed to like parrots just because they can talk. “Human talk all the time and I hate most of them!” he says. He has a lot to say about ostriches and many other birds but stops short at hating on penguins. He says that they’ve earned a life time pass. Oliver is funny as usual and this video is a must watch.
