Art will resonate in Indian classical ragas as internationally acclaimed maestro Manab Das takes center stage every Tuesday at Museum of Goa, Pilerne.

Manab Das belongs to Maihar Gharana founded by the great Ustad Allaudin Khan which produced Sitar Maestros like Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. Das has been playing and performing live since the age of nine. He has performed all over India as well as internationally in Europe and the United Kingdom. His music is a regular presence on All India Radio and several television broadcasts. Das was an assistant professor at Goa College of Music, Panjim, which is an affiliate of Goa University, for twenty years. He now serves as the officiating principal of the institution. The sitar concerts will be held from February 7 onwards at 7 pm.

Fr. Agnel College of Arts and Commerce, Pilar’s mega two day inter collegiate commerce, management, culture and I.T. festival, was held amidst fanfare and frolic recently. Seven colleges from all over the state participated in 13 events that challenged and energized the participants to go beyond and provide their creativity wings. GVM’s GGPR College of Economics, Ponda emerged the overall winners.
