Coldplay has won the British Artist of the Year at the BBC Music Awards triumphing over the likes of Adele and David Bowie. Although the band wasn't there in person to receive the award, frontman Chris Martin sent across his thanks through a video message before going on to perform Everglow. "Sorry we're not there, we are about to go on stage in Australia. Look at all those people and we love you and we are so grateful and we'll see you so soon. Thank you so much and goodbye," he said. However, some music lovers aren't happy that they scopped up the award over Bowie and took to Twitter to express their disappointment over it
