Speaker and Sakhali MLA Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday convened a joint meeting in the Secretariat to take stock of work on the new building for the Sankhali Municipal Council (SMC), as plans are afoot to shift the municipal council’s office to the new building by December 19.
Those present at the meeting included SMC Chief Officer Pravinjay Pandit , architect Milind Ramani, GSUDA Chief Project Officer Jagdish Hosmani and others.
Dr Sawant instructed Hosmani, Ramani and the contractors to complete the furniture work and fire detection system by December 10.
The speaker also assured to clear the file pertaining to power connection in the electricity department in respect of new municipal building Sankhali.
It was also decided to take up work on the second phase of the new SMC building on priority basis.
