Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant literally stole the show as Goa’s young as well as senior politicians descended at the Varca beach for the beach volleyball earlier this week. Amongst the players seen testing their skills on the volleyball court was CM Pramodbab, Sports Minister Govindbab Gaude, MLAs Venzy, Reginaldo, Daji Salkar, Premanand Shet, Chandrakant Shetye, besides former Minister Churchillbab. Even as Agriculture Minister Ravibab Naik, a volleyball player of yesteryears watched from the sidelines the youngsters showcasing their skills, the CM was at his extraordinary best, rushing to serve the ball to the opposite side again and again. Indeed a warm up match ahead of the National Games.
What transpired between Churchill, Gaude at volleyball championship?
Varca strongman Bab Churchill’s presence at the beach volleyball championship at Varca earlier this week threw up a host of interesting questions. One, Churchillbab was found seated on the front row. No doubt, other MLAs including local MLA Venzybab Viegas too were all seated on the front row, but Churchilbab was seen seated close to Sports Minister Govindbab Gaude and Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant. Incidentally, Churchilbab was the first to arrive at the venue and take a front seat. Reginaldbab, who arrived minutes later preferred to take a back seat with Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixonbab Vaz. Former Margao Municipal Chairperson Saviobab Coutinho’s move to embrace the Congress makes reading interesting. He has joined the Congress at a time when speculations were rife that wife Pratimabai Coutinho would return back to the Congress fold after she quit the Aam Aadmi Party. That the Congress top brass comprising of GPCC chief Amitbab Patkar, Leader of Opposition Yuribab Alemao, MP Sardinhbab, besides party functionaries, district chief Saviobab D’Silva and senior leader M K Sheikh all descended at the Congress office indicates the importance the party has accorded to Saviobab’s induction. Fatorda road hotmixed for Games, but will Vijai attend inaugural
Is Goa Forward chief Vijaibab Sardesai happy over the road hot mixing works underway in Fatorda around the Nehru stadium ahead of the National Games? Well, with Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi scheduled to flag off the National Games at the Nehru stadium, the PWD is working overtime to repair and hot mix all the roads surrounding the stadium. One question, however, still remains unanswered “ will the Goa Forward chief and Fatorda MLA attend the inaugural function when PM Modi descends at the Nehru stadium? Chief Minister Pramodbab Sawant is believed to have called up Vijaibab, inviting him for the inaugural programme. Wait and watch.
