Goa's upcoming talent Trijoy Dias is on a mission to climb the ladder of success and reach the pinnacle of Indian football.
Trijoy recently proved his stature after helping Goa beat Kerala 1-0 in Group A, of National Football championship for Santosh Trophy this week.
The Cuncolim-born winger played an instrumental role in Goa's impressive run scoring twice and assisting once.
"The Santosh trophy was of immense experience and exposure. I am really grateful for the opportunities that I have received. I got a chance to prove myself,” Dias told The Goan Everyday on Friday.
A product of Our Lady of Health High School,Cuncolim, Trijoy joined Sirlim Sports Club. Under the guidance of Oscar D'Costa in the GFA age group tournaments, a year later made a move to Dempo Sports Club where he played through the youth rankings. He made the switch to Sporting Clube de Goa in 2015.
Now, with Churhill Brothers FC, Dias has earmarked his ambitions for the season.
"I strongly believe Churchill Brothers FC will perform better in the I-league this season" said Trijoy beaming high on confidence.
“We will keep giving our 100 per cent in all the games. I am very happy with my performance. I am only focusing on the I-league now. Coach Derrick Pereira has been inspiring me to just keep on playing well. I would like to thank all the support staff for their help without whom I would not have performed so well," added Dias who has also received a call for the statesquad that will be participating in the National Games.
Trijoy also dreams of making it to the National side and also playing in the Indian Super League.
