Will it be Joaquimbab Alemao or son Yuri, who will contest the 2022 election on the Congress ticket for the Cuncolim seat? This question did the rounds in Cuncolim’s political circles during the weekend as Joaquimbab and son Yuri returned to the Congress fold. Many say Joaquimbab may be the best bet for the Congress to regain its hold in Cuncolim. Sources, however, say the former minister is keen to hand over the baton to son Yuri in the political scheme of things. Yuri too has expressed his wish to contest from Cuncolim.
