When Congress minority leader Urfanbhai quit the Congress, news did the rounds about his close association with Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar. Urfanbhai does not deny the fact that he shared a close rapport with Babu since the Congress days. In fact, Babu is believed to be the first heavyweight from the ruling camp to call up Urfanbhai with an offer to embrace the BJP. And, Urfanbhai says the offer to join the saffron brigade kept pouring in, first from the Congress-turned-BJP MLAs and later from the BJP leaders, before he finally made up his mind to embrace the saffron brigade.
