Exit Elvisbab and in comes Rahul Mhambre to head the Aam Aadmi Party as a stop-gap arrangement. But AAP leadership may face a piquant question, whether the party should continue to project a Catholic face or opt for a leader from the majority community to drive home a message that the party enjoys support from all sections of Goans, including the minorities.
Take note, AAP had failed to open an account in the 2017 election but had managed to make deep inroads in minority Saxttidom. The leadership question is bound to come to haunt the AAP sooner rather than later as the party is gearing up in a big way for the 2022 electoral battle. Wait and watch.
